Dealing with the Media in a
DUI Murder Case
If you have been charged with DUI murder, or any high profile case that has drawn local or national media attention, it is important to hire an attorney who understands what should be done – and perhaps equally as important, what to avoid doing – in dealing with the media.

In this video, Managing Partner David P. Shapiro explains that at our Firm, we recognize that the media attention – indeed, the entire case – is not about us. Rather, it’s about our client and what can or cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt in court. And when we deal with the media, everything we say and do is premised on the issue of whether our actions and our statements are in the best interests of our client.

Some attorneys have a tendency, even if they don’t have the facts to back up what they say, to immediately become outwardly aggressive with their statements to the media. This is a disservice to their clients, because, in the process, they risk losing the ear of the District Attorney, the court, and the public. As a result, at our Firm, we always focus on handling media attention in an effective, professional, and timely manner.

This is just one more reason why it is important to hire a locally experienced and highly qualified criminal defense firm if you are facing a criminal charge. We are just a phone call away at 619-295-3555.
