Jamil Jones
Intake Specialist
Since 2010, Jamil Jones has honed his skills in the sales and entrepreneurial fields before transitioning into law. After graduating from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Sociology, and Writing, Jamil immediately dove into the workforce, helping businesses increase sales and develop strategies for growth. He later expanded his career by founding his own freelance videography business and credit repair service, gaining valuable experience in both the creative and financial sectors. It was actually a videography project with a law firm that sparked his interest in law, and soon after, Jamil joined that firm as an Intake Specialist for Mass Tort Litigation cases.
Within a short time, Jamil’s leadership abilities stood out, and he was tasked with training new intake specialists, ensuring the firm’s continued success. Eager to broaden his legal experience, Jamil transitioned to criminal defense, where he now brings his diverse skill set to the team at David P. Shapiro Criminal Defense Attorneys. Jamil prides himself on his strict professionalism, unwavering integrity, and high empathy – all of which aligns directly with our mission and ultimately is what attracted him to join the firm in 2024.
In his spare time, Jamil enjoys pursuing his creative passions, including videography, photography, and graphic design. He stays active by playing basketball in local leagues and indulges in his love of horror movies and vinyl record collecting. One of Jamil’s favorite quotes comes from his favorite novelist, Haruki Murakami. “Life’s no piece of cake, mind you, but the recipe’s my own to fool with.” Essentially, our lives are blank canvases and each of us possess the choice to paint whatever image we desire.
